Secondary Education Grades 6-12 [Mathematics] (Practitioner Teacher Certification), PBC


Total Hours Required for Certificate:  24

The Practitioner Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program in Secondary Education Grades 6-12 [Mathematics] leads to initial teacher certification.

Program Admission


Candidates must have a non-educational baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited university and hold a minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 2.5.  Candidates must show proof of employment for the upcoming academic year in the area in which certification is being sought.

Notes


  • Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses applied to the certificate.
  • Coursework in the practitioner program is divided into three portals with a specific course sequence corresponding to the mandatory three-semester requirement for program completion.
  • Prescriptive Plan (if necessary) - 6 hours:  Candidates who have identified problems as indicated by either their college supervisor or mentor teacher will be required to enroll in and satisfactorily complete an individualized prescriptive plan as determined by these deficiencies.
