Endowed Professorships

McNeese awards teaching excellence and scholarly and professional activities through endowed professorships. Professorships ensure that instructors remain intellectually vigorous, current and enthusiastic about their coursework. Endowed professorships are supported by a $100,000 endowment that consists of a $60,000 private contribution and a $40,000 match awarded by the Louisiana Board of Regents. Endow an Oak

The legacy of the live oak on the McNeese campus was started in the 1940s. A live oak tree may be endowed to fund its perpetual care and protection. The endowment becomes a permanent source of funds for the selected oak and provides for the tree’s lifetime care, and if necessary, replacement. An endowment includes a customized, permanent bronze plaque installed near the base of the selected tree.

An endowed oak is a unique gift for a family member, friend or organization. It can be made in memory of or in honor of someone, or it can be named for the donor. The donor may be an individual, family, organization or company.
