Nutritional Sciences, MS


Total Hours Required for Degree:  39

Program Admission


In addition to the general requirements for admission  to the William J. Doré, Sr. School of Graduate Studies, applicants for admission to the Nutritional Sciences, MS program must have:

  • A minimum score of 286 on the GRE (Verbal + Quantitative);
  • A minimum undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0;
  • A minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 in nutrition and dietetics coursework;
  • A verification statement from an ACEND-accredited undergraduate program;
  • Completed (or will have completed) a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree from an ACEND-accredited dietetic program; and
  • Been selected for the dietetic internship program at McNeese or completed the dietetic internship.

General Notes


  • At least one-half of the total number of credit hours required for a graduate degree, excluding credit for thesis, must be at the 600 level.
  • Credits applied must be earned within 6 calendar years from the time the student first enrolled in the program.
  • No grade below C and not more than 6 credit hours of C work can be applied toward the degree.
  • Only transfer credits with a grade of B or better may be applied toward the degree.
