MEEN 331 - Machine Design I

Fundamentals of machine design, including stress-, deflection-, and wear-limited designs. Static and dynamic failure theories presented. Analysis of failed machine parts introduced as a tool to improve future designs. Importance of costs, reliability, safety, recycling, etc., in engineering design is emphasized.

Prerequisite: ENGR 302 and 305.
