ECON 330 - Healthcare Economics (Lec. 3, Cr. 3) Supply and demand for health services. Markets for health professionals and healthcare provider firms. Discusses the roles of insurance, managed care and HMOs, professional licensure, for-profit and not-for-profit provider firms, and information problems in healthcare markets. Regulation, government financing for healthcare and healthcare reform issues.
