EDUC 613 - Structure of the English Language Description Aims to equip students with basic facts about the world’s languages, a fundamental prerequisite to understanding the nature of human language. The diversity of languages across space and time and the fundamental similarities of languages will be examined. Topics include language families and historical relationships, linguistic typology, language universals, and sound and structure features of the world’s languages.
