The Bachelor of Arts degree program in Art with a concentration in Painting/Art Education Grades K-12 leads to initial teacher certification.
All Teacher Education Preparation requirements must be satisfied for this degree.

- ART 400 - Senior Project Portfolio Exhibition/Review (Lab. 4, Cr. 2)
- ART 412 - Advanced Painting II (Lab. 6, Cr. 3)
- ART 414 - Directed Observations and Field Experiences in Art (Lab. 6, Cr. 3)
Choose one of the following:
- HIST 201 - American History to 1877 (Lec. 3, Cr. 3)
- HIST 202 - American History since 1877 (Lec. 3, Cr. 3)
The following science option is based on whether the two-part science sequence above was a life science sequence or a physical science sequence. If the two-part science sequence was a life science sequence, this science must be a physical science. If the two-part science sequence was a physical science sequence, this science must be a life science.

Note
Students must earn a grade of ‘C’ or better in ARED 445, ENGL 101, and ENGL 102, as well as in all ART, EDUC, PSYC, and SPED courses.
General Notes
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 40 hours at the 300/400 level.
- All Baccalaureate degrees require at least one course from the life sciences and one course from the physical sciences categories in Area C of the General Education Core Curriculum.
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 12 hours of Writing Enriched courses in the General Education Core Curriculum and 6 hours in the major.
- All Associate degrees must include 6 hours of Writing Enriched courses in the General Education Core Curriculum and 3 hours in the major.
