The Bachelor of Science degree program in Early Childhood Education Grades PK-3 leads to initial teacher certification.
All Teacher Education Preparation requirements must be satisfied for this degree.

Freshman Fall - 17 hours
Note: EDUC 192 and EDUC 204 each require 10 observation hours.
Freshman Spring - 18 hours
Note: EDUC 202 requires 10 observation hours.
Sophomore Fall - 18 hours
Note: EDUC 203 requires 10 observation hours. EDUC 216 requires 5 observation hours.
Sophomore Spring - 16 hours
Junior Fall - 18 hours
Note: EDUC 316, EDUC 321, and EDUC 334 each require 15 observation hours. SPED 452 and SPED 453 each require 20 observation hours.
Junior Spring - 12 hours
Note: EDUC 335 and EDUC 329 each require 15 observation hours. EDUC 416 requires 20 observation hours.
Senior Fall - 12 hours
Note: EDUC 409 requires 40 observation hours. EDUC 419 requires 60 observation hours. EDUC 420 requires 90 observation hours.
Students must keep mornings free for observations.
Notes
- Students must complete all EDTC, EDUC, and SPED courses prior to student teaching.
- Students must earn a grade of C or better in ENGL 101, ENGL 102, and ENGL 351, as well as in all EDTC, EDUC, PSYC, and SPED courses.
General Notes
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 40 hours at the 300/400 level.
- All Baccalaureate degrees require at least one course from the life sciences and one course from the physical sciences categories in Area C of the General Education Core Curriculum.
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 12 hours of Writing Enriched courses in the General Education Core Curriculum and 6 hours in the major.
- All Associate degrees must include 6 hours of Writing Enriched courses in the General Education Core Curriculum and 3 hours in the major.
