1Six (6) hours must be selected from the approved Writing Enriched courses- see General Education Requirements section.
2A student majoring in a stringed instrument will enroll in MUSC 396. A student majoring in a wind or percussion instrument will enroll in MUSC 390 in the fall semester and MUSC 380 or 487 in the spring semester as deemed appropriate by the director of bands. After completion of six semesters of required credits, including three semesters of MUSC 390, a student majoring in a wind or percussion instrument may upon successful audition enroll in any instrumental ensemble. Only 1 credit of a major ensemble may be applied to degree requirements each semester.
3Students must earn a minimum of 1 credit hour in chamber music. Students choose from the following courses: MUSC 385 (Woodwind Ensemble), MUSC 388 (Brass Choir), MUSC 389 (Percussion Ensemble), or MUSC 493 (Chamber Music-Various Ensembles) to satisfy this requirement. Total Hours for Degree: 132
