1Six (6) hours must be selected from the approved Writing Enriched courses- see General Education Requirements  section.
2Must include both biological and physical sciences of which 6 hours must be earned in a single biological or physical science area (6-hour sequence recommended); the remaining 3 hours must be earned in a science other than that previously selected. Students seeking Add-on Certification in a science area should see advisor about that curriculum.
3Two of the courses used to satisfy mathematics and science requirements must be writing-enriched courses.

Secondary Teaching Area options


This major has no requirement for a Secondary Teaching Area, but students may pursue Add-on Certification in another area by taking courses above the minimum required for graduation.
