All Liberal Studies majors must complete the degree requirements block (64 credit hours) and they must select a concentration block (56/59 credit hours) from the choices that follow. The Liberal Studies degree requires a minimum of 45 hours at the 300+ level.

1Two of the courses used to satisfy the math and science requirements must be writing-enriched courses such as BIOL 102, 106; CHEM 101, 102, 135, 136; ENSC 102; GEOL 102; MATH 170, 231; PHSC 101, 102, 111, 236; PHYS 151, 152, 211, 212; STAT 231 2MATH 122 and 223 may not be used to satisfy the mathematics requirements. 3Science requirements must include biological and physical (or geological) sciences, of which 6 hours must be in the same subject area, with a two-semester sequence recommended. 4Students who select the Theatre Concentration block should take ENGL 421 or 422 instead of ENGL 351 or 361. 5Students who select the Theatre Concentration block shoudl take THEA 472 and 475 instead of the two HIST 300/400 electives. 6Art, Music, and Theatre courses qualify as fine art electives.
