English Language Learners, GC

Program Admission

In addition to the general requirements for admission to the William J. Doré, Sr. School of Graduate Studies, applicants for admission to the English Language Learners, GC program must provide evidence of a valid teaching certificate.

Term 1: Fall - 6 hours

Note: EDUC 611 and EDUC 612 require 20 field experience hours each.

• EDUC 611 - Introduction to Language and Culture Cr: 3
• EDUC 612 - Methods of Teaching English Learners Cr: 3

Term 2: Spring - 0 hours

Note: No English Language Learners courses are offered in the spring semester.

Term 3: Summer - 6 hours

Note: EDUC 613 and EDUC 614 require 25 field experience hours each.

• EDUC 613 - Structure of the English Language Cr: 3
• EDUC 614 - Curriculum Design for the Multicultural Classroom Cr: 3

Notes

• No grades below C and not more than 3 credit hours of C work can be applied toward the certificate.
