EDUC 299 - Entrance into Minor Program of Study


Description
Candidates declaring a minor in teacher education must register for EDUC 299. The portal course includes mandatory attendance at workshop(s) designed to assist candidates in completing the EDUC 299 packet required for official admission into the teacher education minor, including submission of official ACT/SAT/Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators scores, passing Praxis content exam scores, a 2.50 minimum cumulative GPA, and course requirements. Candidates must submit the EDUC 299 packet prior to the end of the semester to receive a grade of Satisfactory (S) for the course. If all components of the packet are not met and/or the packet is not submitted by the indicated due date for the semester, a grade of Unsatisfactory (U) will be assigned. A grade of Satisfactory in this portal course is required to enroll in any 300 or 400 level education, educational technology, or special education courses.

Candidates are required to complete all components of the packet by the due date indicated in the course calendar. No incomplete grades will be assigned for this course.

Prerequisite(s): Declaration of a teacher education minor; completed 30 semester hours with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50; submission of passing scores on either the (ACT, SAT, or Praxis Core Academic Skills for Educators exam) or Praxis content exam; and permission of department head.
Prerequisite(s)/Corequisite(s): EDUC 110.
