EDUC 334 - Elementary Math Methods I


Description
Introduction to the current principles, practices, methods, and materials for designing and implementing math instruction in the PK-5 classroom. Candidates will familiarize themselves with the Louisiana Student Standards for Mathematics and how the standards are taught in relation to number sense, numbers and base ten, all four operations of mathematics, fluency, fractions, and geometry. High Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) will guide candidates in understanding the alignment of standards, assessment of student knowledge, and student misconceptions.

Prerequisite(s): EDUC 200, EDUC 316 (with a grade of C or better), and MATH 122 (with a grade of C or better).
