Freshman Fall - 16 hours
Note: EDUC 207 requires 5 field experience hours.

Freshman Spring - 18 hours

EDUC 200 packet must be approved prior to enrolling in EDUC and SPED 300/400 level courses, with the exception of EDUC 314. Sophomore Fall - 17 hours

The Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching (PLT): Grades K-6 exam (#5622) must be passed prior to enrolling in EDUC 474E. Sophomore Spring - 16 hours

Junior Fall - 15 hours
Note: EDUC 321 and EDUC 322 require 15 field experience hours each, EDUC 331 requires 5 field experience hours, EDUC 343 requires 12 field experience hours, and SPED 336 requires 10 field experience hours.
Teacher Education Requirements
Candidates must enroll in EDUC 300 the semester prior to enrolling in EDUC 474E. The Praxis PLT and the Praxis content exams must be passed by the end of the semester in which the candidate is registered for EDUC 300.
Junior Spring - 15 hours
Note: EDUC 324 requires 15 field experience hours, EDUC 353 requires 12 field experience hours, EDUC 357 and SPED 443 require 10 field experience hours each, and EDUC 425 requires 20 field experience hours. Teacher Education Requirements
Non-education courses taken during residency semesters must be scheduled either in the evening or online. Senior Fall - 13 hours
Note: EDUC 351, EDUC 415, and SPED 403 require 10 field experience hours each, and EDUC 474E requires a minimum of 80% of the instructional week in an assigned grade 1-5 classroom completing residency hours. Senior Spring - 10 hours
Note: EDTC 350 requires 5 field experience hours, EDUC 475E requires 80% of the instructional week in an assigned grade 1-5 classroom completing residency hours, and SPED 424 requires 10 field experience hours. Note
Students must earn a grade of C or better in EDTC 245, EDTC 350, ENGL 101, ENGL 102, and MATH 105, as well as in all EDUC, PSYC, and SPED courses. General Notes
- All bachelor’s degrees must include 40 hours at the 300/400 level.
- All bachelor’s degrees require the successful completion of at least nine hours of Natural Sciences General Education Curriculum courses. Six hours shall be earned in a single life or physical science; the remaining three hours must be earned in a natural science area other than that previously selected (both life and physical sciences must be taken to fulfill this requirement).
