Educational Leadership (Ed.S.)

The Department of Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology offers a major in Educational Leadership leading to the Education Specialist with concentrations in Educational Leadership and Educational Technology.

General Requirements


A minimum of sixty-six (66) graduate semester hours of which thirty (30) graduate semester hours must be earned after receiving the master’s degree. One year of experience in educational leadership or EDLD 695 for 6 credit hours is required. Twenty-four (24) of the last thirty (30) post-master’s graduate semester hours must be earned in residence.

Prerequisites


In addition to the general requirements for admission to Graduate School, applicants for admission to the Education Specialist in Educational Leadership program must meet the following requirements:

  • A master’s degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 12 semester hours in graduate education.
  • A minimum GRE score of 900 (verbal + quantitative).
  • A valid teaching certificate (not temporary).
  • Minimum of three years of successful full-time teaching.
