Total Hours Required for Minor: 19 Students with a minor in Elementary Education Grades 1-5 will be eligible to begin a teaching career with a temporary teaching certificate and will need an additional 14 credit hours and passing scores on the Praxis Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades K-6 (#5622) exam to become a certified teacher.

Term 1: Fall - 3 hours
Note: EDUC 216 requires 10 field experience hours. EDUC 299 packet must be approved prior to enrolling in EDUC and SPED 300/400 level courses. Term 2: Spring - 4 hours
Note: EDUC 316 requires 20 field experience hours. Term 4: Fall - 6 hours
Note: EDUC 203 requires 10 field experience hours, and EDUC 327 requires 20 field experience hours. Term 5: Spring - 4 hours
Note: EDUC 325 and EDUC 326 require 15 field experience hours each. Note
Students must earn a grade of C or better in all courses applied to the minor. |
