Prerequisites
In addition to the general requirements for admission to Graduate School and those listed above, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have a valid teaching certificate (not temporary).
- Have a minimum of three years of successful, full-time teaching.
- Must hold a Master of Education (or equivalent) degree from an accredited institution, which consists of at least thirty (30) credit hours of coursework. Of the thirty (30) credit hours, at least three (3) credit hours must be in educational research. Candidates holding a master’s degree in Educational Leadership are eligible to pursue the Educational Technology Leadership concentration only. Candidates holding master’s degrees in educational disciplines other than Educational Leadership are eligible to pursue the Educational Leadership concentration only.

- EDLD 696 - Educational Leadership Practicum I (Lab. 9, Cr. 3)

Notes
- One year of experience in educational leadership may be substituted for the six (6) credit hours of EDLD 696 and EDLD 697 required in the prescribed coursework.
- Twenty-four (24) of the last thirty (30) post-master’s graduate semester hours must be earned in residence.
General Notes
- At least one-half of the total number of credit hours required for a graduate degree, excluding credit for thesis, must be at the 600-level.
- Credits applied must be earned within 6 calendar years from the time the student first enrolled in the program.
- No grade below C and not more than 6 credit hours of C work can be applied toward the degree.
- Only transfer credits with a grade of B or better may be applied toward the degree.
