Program Requirements
- RN to BSN students must apply to McNeese State University and receive unconditional acceptance into the University prior to the College of Nursing and Health Professions performing a transcript evaluation.
- Once an acceptance letter is received from McNeese State University’s Office of Admissions and Recruiting, students should contact the RN to BSN Coordinator, Dr. Rhonda Johnson, at rjohnson@mcneese.edu or (337) 475-5929. More detailed instructions regarding advisement will be given at the time of contact.
- By the completion of the first semester, RN to BSN students must show current licensure in good standing.
- RN to BSN students must provide the College of Nursing and Health Professions with copies of their transcript(s). Copies forwarded to the College of Nursing and Health Professions may be unofficial; however, transcripts submitted to the Office of Admissions and Recruiting must be official. The College of Nursing and Health Professions may request course descriptions directly from the student to assist with determining transferability of courses.
- RN to BSN students who attended another university or college within the state of Louisiana may find the Louisiana Board of Regents’ Master Articulation Matrix helpful when determining the transferability of general education and science coursework.
- The Undergraduate Nursing department head will make final decisions relevant to the transferability of coursework on a case by case basis. The College of Nursing and Health Professions reserves the right to limit the number of students admitted to nursing courses based on faculty and clinical resources.

General Notes
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 40 hours at the 300/400 level.
- All Baccalaureate degrees require at least one course from the life sciences and one course from the physical sciences categories in Area C of the General Education Core Curriculum.
- All Baccalaureate degrees must include 12 hours of Writing Enriched courses in the General Education Core Curriculum and 6 hours in the major.
