1Three (3) hours must be selected from the approved Writing Enriched courses- see General Education Requirements. 2Approved Electives must include 9 hours from Humanities, 9 hours from Natural Sciences, 6 hours from Social Sciences, and 3 hours from Fine Arts. Humanities: History, literature, religious studies, philosophy, speech communication, foreign language (above intro-level). At least 3 hours must be a sophomore level or above. Social Science: sociology, psychology, government, political science, anthropology, geography, economics. Natural Sciences: Course work must include biological and physical science, of which 6 hours must be in a two-semester sequence. Fine Arts: music, dance, theatre. 3Concentration in areas of Graphic Design, Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Photography, and Printmaking shall consist of 18 hours of studio work in selected area. Secondary Concentration in Art Education, K-12
*Pending NASAD approval. All Teacher Education Preparation requirements must be satisfied for completion of the secondary concentration in Art Education K-12. See your advisor for proper sequencing of course work. To complete the B.A. in Art with a secondary concentration in Art Education requires successful completion of 122 credit hours listed below. Students graduating with the secondary concentration in Art Education will receive the degree of: B.A. Art/Studio Concentration/Art Education K-12.
