WMST 220 - African-American Women’s Lives

Gendered analysis of African-American women’s experiences and identity. Historical role of African-American women in family, workplace and community; participation in social and political movements; and contemporary issues in African-American women’s lives. Critical analysis of social and economic structures, religion, literature, music, popular culture, and media images in our society with focus on class, ethnic, and sexual identities.
