EDUC 200 - Entrance into Teacher Education

Description
Candidates declaring a major or concentration in a baccalaureate teacher education program must register for EDUC 200. The portal course requires prior submission of the completed EDUC 200 packet for official admission into a baccalaureate education program, including a 2.50 minimum cumulative GPA, completion of a mandated reporter training, an approved narrative, specific course requirements, and any additional items noted in the packet.

Upon meeting criteria for official admission into the program, candidates will submit the EDUC 200 packet to the head of the Department of Education Professions for approval prior to the semester for which they wish to enroll in the portal course. Candidates will be assigned a grade of S (Satisfactory) once the packet is approved and the candidate has successfully registered for the portal course. A grade of S in this portal course is required in order to enroll in 300 or 400 level education, educational technology, or special education courses.

Note(s)
Candidates are required to complete all components and submit the packet prior to enrollment in the course. Refer to the Teacher Education Preparation Portals page of the Academic Catalog for additional portal requirements.
