Purpose

The Department of Physics curricula and course offerings are designed to implement the purpose of the Physics Department, the College of Science, and the University as they are related to instructional programs and research. Specifically the purposes of the department are to offer service courses and physics related curricula for students who are non-science majors or enrolled in technical or pre-professional programs. The department provides a complete curriculum leading to the Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.

Curricula

The Department of Physics offers a curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. Students majoring in physics receive the basic preparation for work in business and industry as well as prerequisites for graduate study in physics.

Graduation Requirements

A student in the Department of Physics must meet all graduation requirements listed in the section titled “Graduation Requirements” in the Academic Regulations section of this catalog.
